Ever since I started working more with my art therapy clients my creativity has been flourishing. I am always hesitant to put soakers here on the website because they tend to leave my hands so quickly. You will rarely see two that are alike in color or shape. When I get a new sweater, I try to look at it to find what soakers, pants, etc. it would best fit. Sometimes that leaves me with a capri pant or leggings, but nevertheless they are always cute and functional. I also rarely size my soakers because I believe that each of our children are different. I don't want to put an age limit or a weight limit on things that your child may fit. I have had my toddler fit pants as capri's that a one-year-old could wear with ease. I have also been using the same cover with my daughter since her first birthday, almost 2 years ago. Her butt didn't change shape, but her legs grew! I follow general measurements to try to keep things somewhat unified. Custom orders are always welcome (see "lola" above). I don't always have my whole supply on-line so e-mail me if you are looking for something specific. Here are the measurements I generally aim for: Small Rise: 14-16" Inseam: 8 Medium Rise: 16-17" Inseam: 10 Large Rise: 18-19" Inseam: 12
Inspired by a Sweater
I make all different kinds of soakers. Here are some examples of how unique they can be: These are made from wool fabric and dyed with Kool-Aid to have bright colors. Although are the most expensive because of the labor and cost of materials, they are easy to put on and last a long time because of the ability to snap different waist and thigh sizes. These are the only designs that can be duplicated, all the others depend on what sweaters I find to cut up. These are made from recycled sweaters, like most of the soakers. This design has been a great way to utilize all the scraps. They have the snugness of a soaker, but the length of pants. These are typically made from the arms of bottom of a sweater to utilize the great ribbing effects of sleeves. These have an elastic waist and I typically do not add embellishments to these. I adjust the size to be shorts, pants, or capri's, depending on the amount and width of fabric I have to work with. I put the diaper on my daughter with these and add a T-shirt and she is ready to go! This would be one of my favorite designs because it can still fit under pants or a dress. I often add embellishments to these, it adds some flair!
